Our Team
Hi, I’m Sarah — Co-Owner of Alchemy I’ve been a hairstylist for 20+ years, and I still love what I do. I specialize in curly hair (because curls deserve proper care!), but I work with all hair types and textures. Color is one of my favorite ways to express creativity—whether it’s bold and bright or soft and subtle, I love helping people find a look that feels like them. Originally an island girl, I’ve lived in a few different places over the years, each one adding a little something to how I see the world and the work I do. I bring a bit of humor, a lot of heart, and a deep respect for the human connection that comes with this craft. At Alchemy, we believe in transformation—not just in how you look, but how you feel. For me, it’s about more than great hair. It’s about creating a space where people feel seen, celebrated, and confident. I love to laugh, I love to create, and I’m grateful every day to do both in a place that feels like home.
I'm Pete, Co-Owner of Alchemy Hair Studio, I’m a hairstylist with over 20 years of experience in the hairdressing industry. My passion lies in creating looks that not only enhance personal style but also boost confidence.
I began my career in the UK, qualifying in 2003, and spent years honing my craft across the country—from the creative energy of Glasgow to the fast-paced salons of London. In search of new challenges and inspiration, I moved to Canada, where I spent five incredible years at Studio MW in Montreal. There, I built a loyal clientele, embraced the French language, and expanded my skill set with modern colouring and cutting techniques.
After two more years in Victoria, working with an amazing downtown salon team, my partners and I decided it was time to bring our vision to life. Together, we're creating the kind of salon experience we've always dreamed of—one rooted in creativity, community, and authenticity.
Co-Owner of Alchemy Hair Studio. Hair has always been my medium—one that’s taken me from Vancouver to London, Montréal to Victoria. I began my craft at John Casablancas Institute, where I graduated top of my class, and soon after set out for the U.K. to sharpen my skills with Toni & Guy, assist at London Fashion Week, and earn a spot among L’Oréal’s top colourists in 2012. Over the years, I’ve worn many hats: educator, salon owner, apprentice, and artist. I opened my first studio in Cambridge, England, then continued my creative evolution in Montréal, learning French and mastering fresh techniques in colour and cut. Now in Victoria, Alchemy Hair Studio is my newest chapter—a space shaped by experience, heart, and vision. I specialize in bold transformations, precision cutting, and colour work that honours the health and integrity of every strand. In my spare time I’m passionate about travel, mostly because of nature, food and culture. I’ve visited 43 countries. I also love gymnastics, snowboarding and a good glass of wine with friends.
Hi, I’m Louisa — an Associate Hairstylist at Alchemy Hair Studio with over 30 years of experience.
I began my career at Suki’s in Vancouver, BC, before heading to London, UK, to train with Vidal Sassoon. My specialty is precision cutting along with advanced highlighting and colour services.
My career has taken me from bustling West End salons in London, to luxury Vancouver studios on South Granville, chic Yorkville salons in Toronto, and the historic downtown of Kingston. I’ve also worked on bridal contracts in Las Vegas, Bermuda, and Prince Edward County. Each experience has refined my craft and strengthened my ability to create styles that are both technically precise and effortlessly wearable.
For 15 years, I owned and operated two successful salons, which not only honed my technical expertise but also gave me a deep understanding of client care and salon leadership. After relocating to Victoria, BC, I completed a master’s degree, broadening my professional knowledge and perspective.
Today, I’m proud to bring that same commitment to growth and excellence to every guest at Alchemy. My goal is always to ensure each person leaves my chair feeling confident, refreshed, and truly valued. Outside the salon, I enjoy writing, keeping up with fashion, and exploring all things beauty.
